Delivering a Graham. Fine cabinetmaking.

The delivery of a piece from Les Ateliers Vau Fontaine is always an event. Aurélien, head of workshop, delivers it in person, taking advantage of a round trip to Charente-Maritime.
After careful packing on Saturday, with protective blankets and stretch film, the delivery is scheduled for late Sunday morning, by appointment with the future owner.
The passion for detail throughout the 6 weeks of making and finishing, and the patient execution of this fine cabinetmaking work, mean there is a small pang in the heart at loading time. We are very happy at the thought of delighting those who place their trust in us, but always a little sad to see our work leave the workshops…
Unloading — 45 kg, no less — an explanation of a few small details, the two panels slide freely and silently, installation in the chosen spot, and a small gift of another Burgundian production: a premier cru from a winemaker friend in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
The client expresses his satisfaction and offers a well-deserved coffee.
A new life begins.
